| Mount Rigi (1800 metres altitude) is famous for its spectacular views and well deserves its title ’Queen of the Mountains’. Hardy visitors trekked up here as early as the 19th century to be rewarded with an impressive wall of mountain peaks to the south and east, including Mount Titlis and the giants of the Jungfrau Region and absolutely stunning views of Lake Lucerne. One of the best ways to visit the Rigi is to take a boat from Lake Lucerne and then the cogwheel railway from Vitznau or the aerial cableway from Weggis. Whatever you choose, you’re in for an experience fit for a queen! |
