Is there anywhere with
better views of the magnificent Bernese Oberland mountain world
than the 2970 m Schilthorn summit? Just the 32-minute aerial
cableway ride past cascading waterfalls and rugged cliffs is an
exceptional experience. At the summit you are met by the most
spectacular 360° panoramic view in the entire Alpine region! And
this view can be admired whilst relaxing in the Piz Gloria, the
world’s first revolving restaurant and the set for the James
Bond film “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service”. Watch the
breathtaking high-Alpine panorama of over 200 summits gliding
majestically past. The far-reaching views extend from the Eiger,
Mönch & Jungfrau (UNESCO World Heritage), along the Bernese and
Valais Alps to Mont-Blanc, over the Swiss Mittelland to the Jura
chain and the Black Forest in Germany. The octagonal
Touristorama screens a panorama video with superb shots of the
Mürren-Schilthorn region and visitors can enjoy the exploits of
Agent 007 with excerpts from the James Bond film. A spacious
vantage terrace, a Top Shop for souvenirs, James Bond bar and
Internet access complete the summit attractions. The Schilthorn
is the highest-altitude ski region in the Bernese Oberland and a
heaven for experienced hikers. It is also home to the gruelling
Inferno Triathlon in summer and the International Inferno Ski
Race in January.
